Affiliate disclosure is an FTC-mandated practice. Essentially, whenever a link is used on this website that results in a commission, this information must be disclosed to site visitors. This extends beyond affiliate links, and must also be done for endorsements, sponsorships, etc.

There are two main reasons that disclosures are necessary:

– They ensure fair business practices. All marketers have an even playing field and buyers have the opportunity to buy from trusted marketers.

– They provide transparency to this site’s readers. Trust can only be achieved through complete transparency.

An affiliate disclosure has a few requirements:

– Clearly and conspicuously placed; easy for users to notice,

– Placed close to “triggering item” i.e., affiliate links themselves,

– Must not be buried in anything that makes the disclosure less noticeable and difficult to see, and

-The language of the disclaimer itself must be understandable to users.
